Sakina is one of the Case Managers on our Refugee Services team! She has the sweetest and most welcoming personality which plays an important role in connecting with new refugee families. How did you first get involved with Della Lamb?
My own Refugee Resettlement Case Manager recommended me for a job at Della Lamb.
Why is Della Lamb important to you?
Having been a refugee myself who had to adjust and adapt to the experience of coming to America, I have a great personal appreciation for the services that Della Lamb provides to new refugees. I truly believe the support programs for refugees and members of the community that Della Lamb provides makes a real difference and I am proud to be involved and contribute.

What are your hobbies/how do you spend your free time?
Cooking and trying new recipes, hiking, spending time with friends and loved ones.

What is your favorite thing about Kansas City?
All the outdoor green space, the food, and all the wonderful people I’ve met.

Elephants are my favorite animal and I have ridden one before. I have always wanted to go skydiving and plan to go soon.
