Stand With Refugees

Kansas City, your support in this moment of crisis has been incredible. The compassion, generosity, and urgency we’ve seen from this community remind us that we are not alone in this fight. Refugee families came here seeking safety and stability, and because of you, they are not being forgotten.

Now is the time to take action. Whether you donate, volunteer, advocate, or rally your network to help, every effort makes a tangible impact. Explore the ways you can stand with refugee families today—because together, we can ensure Kansas City remains a place of welcome and hope.

The Refugee Families we serve came here legally, seeking safety, stability, and the promise of a new life. Now, they’re being told they're not worth it. We refuse to turn our backs on them. They are worth it.

Stand in the gap for the vulnerable.

How You Can Help

Donate

A financial gift provides immediate relief to refugee families in crisis. From housing and food to case management and job support, every dollar ensures families can rebuild their lives with dignity.

You can donate at give.dellalamb.org/stand-with-refugees. All proceeds will directly support the needs of our newest neighbors during this time of uncertainty.

Become a Fundraiser

Rally your friends, family, and network to sponsor a refugee family. By starting a fundraising team, you can help provide three months of critical support, ensuring stability as they adjust to their new home.

Your organization, faith-based group, church, neighborhood, or you as an individual, can create a personalized donation page and fundraise on behalf of the families we serve.

Volunteer

Give your time to make a lasting impact. Help refugees learn English, navigate public transportation, prepare for jobs, or assist with childcare. Your presence means the world to those finding their footing in a new place.

See Volunteer Opportunities

Giving your time isn’t just about service—it’s about building a welcoming community. Refugees arrive with resilience, hope, and the drive to rebuild their lives, but they can’t do it alone. Whether you can help with job prep, provide childcare, or simply be a friendly face, your presence makes a difference. Sign up today to be part of this life-changing work!

Our VOLUNTEER PLATFORM reflects ongoing and ever-changing volunteer opportunities, but you can also email volunteer@dellalamb.org to get started.

Advocate

Use your voice to fight for policies that protect and support refugee families. Contact your representatives, attend local meetings, and speak up for those who can’t. Policy changes have real consequences—let’s make sure they’re the right ones.

Your voice matters. Contact your representatives and urge them to restore funding and support for refugees who have already arrived in the U.S. We’ve created two easy-to-use templates to help you reach out quickly and effectively.

Be Kind

Sometimes, the simplest acts make the biggest difference. Smile at a newcomer, extend a hand of friendship, shop at immigrant-owned businesses, and remind refugees that they are welcome here. A kinder Kansas City starts with each of us.
